Washington – OSHA has issued a new compliance directive to help guide inspectors in the enforcement of the agency’s updated Cranes and Derricks in Construction Standard.
Effective Oct. 17, the agency-wide directive covers enforcement of power-operated equipment in Subpart CC of the standard.
OSHA updated its Cranes and Derricks in Construction Standard in 2010. Under the previous standard, equipment-specific requirements were incorporated by reference from other documents; the revised standard explicitly contains those requirements.
